Community Garden

The St. Joseph Island Community Garden offers individual 4’ x 8’ garden beds.  Waist- height beds are also available for those with mobility or back issues.  

Beds can be rented annually for a nominal fee of $20/season. Rental fees provide members with access 
to tools, storage, water, power and gardening assistance and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. 

We practice organic gardening; and garden without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers or any harmful chemicals. We focus on building healthy soil and learn to garden in harmony with the environment. 
As part of the membership requirements, members are required to complete a total of 6 hours of volunteer service at various work bees and social events, which are held monthly during the garden season (April – October.)
