Township of St. Joseph Fire & Rescue
The Township of St. Joseph Fire & Rescue is operated by a contingent of approximately 20 trained volunteers. All members carry pagers and respond to calls all hours of the day and night, seven days a week throughout the year.
The department’s main equipment consists of one 800 gallon Pumper truck, one 1500 gallon Tanker and one Rescue vehicle. Located on these vehicles is equipment for fire suppression, auto extrication and ice rescue. Members receive training throughout the year on various firefighting and rescue techniques as well as participate in events and campaigns to provide Fire Prevention Education to residents of the their community.
The Township of St. Joseph Fire & Rescue is a member of Mutual Aid which provides for back up service by and for neighbouring municipalities. The Department is administered by a Chief, Deputy Chief and four Captains and is located on the edge of Richards Landing at 1511 10th Side Road. Fire Permits
Fire permits are required for open air burning April 1 to Oct. 31
2025 permits will be available for download here or hard copy at the office after April 1, 2025.

Matthews Memorial Hospital is located at 1180 Richards St in Richards Landing. The hospital operates on a 24 hour, 7 days a week basis with the following types of services:
