Job Description:

This 52 week, fast-paced internship, will capitalize on your organizational and project management skills. The position is shared between the Township of St. Joseph Municipal office and the Dr. H.S. Trefry Memorial Centre.

Municipal Office Responsibilities:

•             Assists with municipal office functions such as recording registrations, data entry, filing and sorting, document digitization, customer service, inventory control, recording information as needed.

•             Assists with scheduling, reporting, and correspondence related to funded infrastructure projects.

•             Assist with promotion, volunteer recruitment, registrations, and scheduling of recreation programs.

•             Assist with event promotion, setup, and registration.

Trefry Centre Responsibilities:

•             Active in community outreach relating to volunteer recruitment and programming awareness

•             Develop new programming to expand and support the current offer.

•             Assist staff in administrative functions and gain an understanding of the processes and functions pertaining to Social Services for Seniors and persons with a disability.

The Intern in this position will learn a variety of administrative tasks, how to effectively use various programs and equipment, work with staff and public, develop their project management skills and develop skills relating to the variety of administrative functions a municipal office delivers to residents, visitors and partner organizations. The applicant should have an interest or background in project management, program administration, social services, gerontology, or developmental services.

This is an hourly position, paid at $20.00 per hour plus 4% in lieu vacation, for up to 35 hours per week.  No benefits included.
